Is it possible to use a android phone as a webcam on group training sessions? I want to run the tr group session off a PC but I have no webcam and the world seems to be running pretty low on them. Delivery times to me is 4 weeks min. So can I run tr group session on PC and use my phone as a webcam? Any help greatly appreciated.
You could try the LiveDroid app as outlined in this post: How to use your Android phone as a webcam for streaming | Windows Central
I’m not entirely certain it will work, but if the system detects it as a webcam/mic, then it should be fine. Haven’t tested it myself though.
Thank you I will try that and let you know how I get on.
I’ve used DroidCam. Works fine.
Hi, it worked great the first time I used it but now it doesn’t. The phone still connects to the pc and I can see the image from the phone on the droid app on the PC, but the when I go into trainerroad the image is just a orange square. I have selcted droid cam in the TR group workout setting section. Is there a specific order for turning on the app on the phone, droid app on the pc and lauching trainerroad? Thanks again for your help. I really want to get this to work.
Note I have only tried this a little bit.
You may need to change the video source in the TR app. DroidCam makes multiple video sources on the PC, and you may need to hunt for the one that works.
Its working very nicely now, thank you.
Quick update, droidcam works pretty inconsistently for me. Some sessions its perfect, others it doest work at all. I always select droidcam as the video source and set up the same way.
