Just a PSA - there’s still room available to sign-up for the 2023 Natchez Trace 444. The field for this race is quite small and almost always sells out. If you’ve been thinking about experiencing an Ultra event in the US but don’t want to jump all the way up to 500-miles through the mountains, then this could be the one for you. It’s a perfect segway from the Century / Double Century distance to the Ultra world. Traditionally, this event has been a RAAM qualifier (if that matters to you) and is a bucket list event on an iconic course through a National Park that tends to fly under the radar.

444 miles on one road, with no stop signs, no turns, no driveways, no dogs, no Walmarts…striking really. One of the most beautiful parkways in the US and a perfect venue for an ultra-endurance cycling event. A RIDE THROUGH 10,000 YEARS OF HISTORY THE NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY IS A 444-MILE RECREATIONAL ROAD AND SCENIC DRIVE THROUGH THREE STATES. IT ROUGHLY FOLLOWS THE “OLD NATCHEZ TRACE” A HISTORIC TRAVEL CORRIDOR USED BY AMERICAN INDIANS, “KAINTUCKS,” EUROPEAN SETTLERS, SLAVE TRADERS, SOLDIERS, AND FUTURE PRESIDENTS.

it ends in Natchez, MS, not MI 😉

I had a couple friends do it this year and both spoke very highly of it.

I was supposed to do ‘Tour the Trace’ a couple weeks ago, but it had to cancel due to the behind schedule road work.

Michigan native and spent 3 years in MS, I agree it’s one of the most beautiful and relaxing roadways in the US. Side note, they don’t take kindly to speeding, lol.

I just did the Deschutes Double after finding this post and having missed the deadline. The rd seemed really awesome and put on a good event.
