Nice. Am I seeing things correct that no exposed wires on Allez? Pretty cool.

Yes you do, I let this cap 3D print and it makes the Allez look even better.

So nice - this is a such a better solution, it boggles my mind why the big S didn’t do this from the start

My first full suspension bike and it feels goooood :sunglasses:
At least it somewhat compensates the lost suspension in rider

Does anyone have any recommendations for an all year round cheap commuter for use in the UK? For those not in the UK, the weather ranges from 30 degress celsius to minus degrees and also plenty of wet and windy days too, so almost any weather. I intend to do extended commutes to do my training session before work. I need drop bars and eylets for dedicated mudguards and would probably throw a frame bag and saddle bag for taking all of the work clothes and showering stuff.

It’s this one:
Canyon LOAD

Ordered with the bike as there are bosses ready for it and figured their own bag should fit. It actually has a strap on the bracket that you tighten around the bag, there is also a small “hook” on the other end but it doesn’t do much to keep it in place. In some review they managed to drop the bag on a ride. Having read that I made sure I pulled the strap pretty tight and yesterday it stayed for 60 km with no problem.

I used to commute on a Triban 500, I forget what the latest Decathlon model is but a relatively light aluminium frame + carbon forks for £300 was ideal when I was commuting to Cambridge. It done over 6000 miles and was good vfm. I eventually swapped it after changing to a job with secure storage for a Kinesis T2 I had in a friends garage (the triban is there now) but the Triban wasn’t far behind in performance.

I will check it out. Performance isn’t the biggest of issues really as it’s going to be heavy from the added baggage anyhow. Any idea how the sizing is compared to your Kinesis? I actually ride an Aithein in size 56.

Decathlon do S,M &L etc sizing, I opted for the M which isn’t much different from my 54cm T2. They’ve rebranded their Road bikes as the Triban RC’s and the equivalent to what I had is the RC120 is now £430 Bikes | Decathlon

Choosing the right size bike

You should choose the size of your bike based on your height, as well as your build (arm span and leg length).
If you are between sizes, the smaller size will give you a more athletic position, while the larger size will give you a more comfortable position.
XS 155 165 cm
S 165 173 cm
M 173 182 cm
L 182 190 cm
XL 190 200 cm
You can try the Triban 120 non-disc bike, which has exactly the same geometry, in our stores.
Certain stores offer a bike fit service.

My Giant TCR advanced Pro 1. I’ve had it over a year now and it’s an absolute pleasure to ride.

Ribble? Only problem is that they have a long lead time and their customer service is less than ideal.

It makes me smile any time I’m on it

Another spam post from me.
The BMC is wearing the OIZ build kit, the OIZ is built up with SLX now. Highly recommend the SLX build, basically identical to XT but saves a few bucks and the blue finish looks nice on the Orbea.

I’ve also replaced the fork on the Two Stroke with a SID SL.
