Yep same here for me on the app very frustrating
Hey all, apologies for those of you who continue to experience this issue. Our engineers are continuing to investigate why the resolution to this problem didn’t fix it for some of you. I’ll report back here when I have more info.
Everyone, here are some details on what’s causing this bug and what we’re doing to fix it.
We had an app issue this weekend that left some athletes unable to log in. That issue was fully resolved on Saturday. However, it coincided with a separate but unrelated bug, which is the issue that a few of you continue to experience.
We recently had to upgrade our Apple tool chain. Unfortunately, we believe that is causing some athletes on certain Apple clients to get unexpected errors in the apps. This is currently a blind spot in our automated monitoring, and we’re creating a beta app build that will give our engineers better optics on the underlying details of the problem. Once we have that info, we will work toward a full fix and release ASAP.
In the meantime, the beta version of the app is moving through the testing and approval process now. Our support staff will reach out to those of you who have been affected with a link to download this updated app. There’s a good chance this app will immediately fix the issue for you. But if it doesn’t, it will send our engineers exact diagnostics that will allow us to resolve the underlying bug.
We apologize for the disruption here. We’re working as quickly as we can get to get it fixed!
I appreciate the update
Please send me the link for the beta test when it’s ready. Thanks
Thank you!
Everyone, the beta app is ready to use if you’d like to try it out. Here are the steps to get it.
-
Click this link on your iOS device: Join the TrainerRoad beta - TestFlight - Apple
-
If you don’t already have it, download TestFlight onto your iPhone or iPad from the screen that link leads you to. This is the Apple developer app that allows you to obtain the beta.
- After you download TestFlight (or if you already have it) scroll down on the screen that link sends you to (you may need to click the link again) and click the button to get the TrainerRoad Beta. The button says “View in TestFlight”.
-
Click to install the TrainerRoad beta app from TestFlight. You’ll see a confirmation window that confirms this will replace the current non-beta version of the app.
-
Open and use the new Beta version from your device.
Once you download and begin using the Beta app, your app on that device will stay updated with the latest Beta version of the TrainerRoad app. If you’d ever like to switch back to our normal Production version, you can do this by opening the App Store and choosing to install TrainerRoad. This will overwrite the beta version and put you back into the normal, non-beta app update cycle.
The beta is working ![]()
Edit - wrote too soon - back to the grey screen. Restarted phone and opening beta from both test light and home screen produces same result. Hopefully you can get the bug data from my attempts.
Didn’t download the Beta as both my iPhone app and the Mac desktop app started working fine as from this morning. All seems fine for me now. Thank you @SeanHurley for your feedback and assistance.
Beta is still not working properly
Just tried this still no good…
Same problem here. The only way to get the app running, is to reinstall the app and restart iPhone…
I’m having the same issues. Won’t load on my phone or iPad. I made about 7 attempts this morning and eventually after 20 minutes it finally loaded,
Windows laptop is the same for a while now screens hanging and stuff not loading
Thanks all, we’re getting good data from the errors on the beta app and we are narrowing in on a fix.
Over the last week or so, I’ve been getting a black screen on the TR app on loading.
I can initially see the waiting circle, which then disappears and it seems the app just hangs.
Often takes a couple of goes for the app to work.
I’ve tried rebooting my phone and my app is up to date
Anyone else have this problem?
Yes, I have. Closing and reopening once or twice helps. You might find this thread/post helpful.
Me too. Good to know the team is on this.
