Trainer died. What replacement should I get?

I’ve been training on a Kinetic Rock and Roll for the last few years. It died on me this weekend. I believe the bipolar stepper motor has failed.
I really liked using the trainer because of the movement and comfort.
I got a used Wahoo kickr V5 but found out I don’t get any power/cadence info from it.

I use a 10 speed QR setup
What smart trainer do you recommend? I typically do all my training indoors and ride 4-5 times a week.

I loved my rock n roll. Still have it in storage in case I ever need it. I have been using a Saris H3 for the last few years with no issues. It will fit your qr bike and you can get them for about $400 if you shop around.

Just ordered a H3 plus for 399.99. Limited lifetime warranty and lots of great reviews. Thanks for the recommendation. Have IM Texas coming up in April and cannot afford any downtime.

What is your budget? Kickr Bike Shift seems pretty awesome considering you do all/most of your riding indoors. I have the v1 Kickr bike… it is so convenient to just hop on and is adjustable for multiple users.

  • Keep in mind that lifetime only applies to the mechanical frame.
  • The electronics are 2 years, with other bits 1 year.
