I was scrolling ahead, taking a look at how TR was preparing and tapering for my a-race, which is a multi-day stage race happening at the end of April, and was very surprised to see that the week before the race had several double days and didn’t appear to be tapering at all. I’m hopeful that as the event gets closer, things will correct, but for now, it leaves me a bit concerned. Does anyone have any insight as to why it may be doing this? TrainerRoad
Right now tapers don’t adapt until they’re within your AI Window. This is a known issue and point of confusion that we’re working on resolving right now. But even with this existing limitation, once these weeks fall within the next 28 days you’ll see them reduce volume on your calendar.
I am interested in why you have those double days, though. That doesn’t look intentional. I’ll take a look at what’s going on there (no plan should include double days).
That definitely looks odd, especially since it shows the Specialty phase starting the week of your A event. Do you somehow have two different plans going at the same time? But, since these dates are beyond the 28 day AI window, I’m guessing everything will change before you get there.
Is there a chance one of these races was previously marked as an A event? It looks like you have a post-A event recovery week somehow scheduled on top of a post-B/C event normal week. I am having trouble reproducing this scenario on my calendar and am curious of any other details that might help me track the bug down.
This is a 4-day stage race that should be marked as an A-Race. There shouldn’t be another event scheduled one top of it, but I can look a bit closer to make sure I haven’t made a mistake.
I have several B/C races on my Calendar, and another A-Race in late September.
Only one plan built for nearly the whole season. Jan 19 through Sept 20, with several events built in.
Sorry, I’m asking about the B/C events two weekends before Gila on your calendar, just visible in the top of your screenshot. I’m curious if one of those was marked as an A event at any time in the past.
Thanks! This looks to be resolved. Let me know if for some reason it happens again.
Is the issue multiple A events in the plan?
I don’t believe it was ever set as A-Event. I could be wrong, but if it was, it would have been a mistake that was quickly corrected.
The entire multi day stage race is set as an A-Race.
I thought there was an issue with plans where there were multiple A events.
Plans now allow only one A Event per plan ![]()
Even if they’re 5 or 6 months apart?
Yeah, I had to create a plan to my Spring A race (Also a stage race fittingly enough) and then create a 2nd plan for the back half of my year with a Fall A race.
Which kinda makes sense, as it’s pretty likely you’re going to want to change something about your training.
I’d like to think the plan builder/AI workout picking would be smart enough to work through that type of change in priority but what do I know.
I don’t even know why a “plan” needs to be made when you have events on your calendar. Give me appropriate training for my stated schedule and goals.
