My '06 Mitsubishi Evo that’s been sitting collecting dust since I got into bikes a few years ago. Hard to believe I bought it bone stock almost 15 years ago now. I’ve become pretty ambivalent to cars in recent years. If I didn’t already have my Z, I wouldn’t even think about trying to buy one. My daily is a 2013 Elantra that gets me from A to B comfortable enough. In fact, I really wish I didn’t “need” to own a car for the day-to-day stuff. Additionally, my work commute is so short, my motorcycle wouldn’t even be halfway to warmed up if I rode it in. Plus, it takes me as long to gear up as would it to just get in my car and drive. So I haven’t taken that out yet this year. ---

I’ve got the opposite problem…my commute is ~50 miles each way and I’m in the office 4 days a week. With high gas prices and free charging at work, EV makes the most sense. I’ve sold all the “fun” stuff (except the Evo) and my wife and I each have an EV. Feels like I’m just driving an appliance now. ---

And the tow rig that went along with it. Sold it last year to capitalize on the used car market. Nice! I bought a ‘13 2500 Laramie CTD back in 2020, kept it for a year or so before selling my 29’ trailer, then sold it back to the same dealer for a grand more. ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/trainerroad/original/3X/2/2/229839ee953a7e8f16cfc7670a35a3a6a9158d73.jpeg) I miss it, but I don’t miss 13mpg, DEF, $5/gal, etc. It had the 6.5’ bed; I very well may have kept it if it had the 8’ bed (my old ‘99 Ram CTD was an 8’er). ---

I always got the impression that until you got into the top level, and the better cars at that level, every race car was kinda junky and sloppy under the skin. Just a bunch of things that have been taken apart, crudely modified in some way, with lots of parts that fit together on paper, put back together rather quickly too many times….and rattling apart - like the software I work with. It’s probably nice just to have a car with all (most) the attention it needs… and fresh tires! ---

Yeah, that whole ICE/Elec thing is real and I knew someone would point it out, so you get the ⭐ But do note that I used a complete phrase “Motor Vehicle” in the title vs the shorthand I did on the quoted post, again… intentionally and knowingly since the phrase is the accepted term rather than “Engine Vehicle” 😉 Then I also expected and welcome any E-cars and such that are inevitable here. Hybrids and full EV’s are sure to show up, especially since some of them are massive performers (like the [Caddy hybrid racer](https://www.imsa.com/weathertech/discover/the-classes/) way at the top). As far as $ & ⌛ , being married w/o kids is one in the Win column for me at least.
