Should I update TR base training FTP when a new FTP is detected on my outside riding?


I’ve been using TR for a week. Started with base training after doing the ramp test.

Today during one of my outside rides an increase of my FTP was detected by my Garmin Connect that is way up of the result of my TR ramp test.

Should I use this new FTP on my TR base training or should I stick to the ramp test result to complete the rest of my 5 weeks training?


Is it a big change? Are you sure the indoor and outdoor power meter readings are identical? Many people report having different ftps indoors vs out (maybe cooling related). An over/under workout indoors with the new ftp is a good way to confirm. IF you can feel recovery during the unders you’re probably good.
