Should I be standing during Shasta/Berryessa/Fuji?

During these workouts with ‘all out’ intervals, should I be standing to maximize power output? These are strength workouts so I have always stood, but now I’m wondering if I am missing something.

Last time I did Berryessa I stood and could not hit target power during the last 2 or 3 intervals. It was only 15 watts down from a 500 target, but I still missed target.

I think workout text suggests doing them seated if you can, standing if you need a change.


To add onto this, if your event type requires a lot of out of the saddle sprinting, doing every other sprint out of the sadde could be a good idea. But if you rarely sprint out of the saddle in your target event, then it would be best to try to remain seated :+1:
