Does anybody know if a 12-speed Shimano cassette will work with a 12-speed Campagnolo Super Record groupset?
The case is that I have a Shimano Ultegra C50 wheelset, with a Shimano freehub. I want to use the wheels with a Colnago C64 with Campa groupset, but I’m not sure of the compability.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I don’t have specific use knowledge for 12 spd compatibility, BUT, I have successfully inter-mixed Campag and Shimano as you describe for 9 and 10 spd, and 11 spd was widely reported to work well.
My guess is that 12 spd will work…as things get narrower, there is less room for differences.
Even 10 spd, which was reportedly not compatible, worked acceptably. I rode Campag 10 spd w/ a Shimano PowerTap hub for many years. Would occasionally have to hold the paddle an extra beat or two to get the chain to shift, but it worked well enough.
