Can refueling be discussed in regard to percentage of calories to replace? What leads me here is the research on percentage of fuel substrate used at a given intensity as a percentage of vo2max. If I burn 1000 calories at an intensity that burns roughly 60% cho and 40% lipids, would replacing only the cho portion be sufficient for recovery while not replacing lipid stores used? Would performance and body composition react accordingly?
