Hola,
Any recommendations for an app similar to TR for weight training - something that will build a plan for me and schedule it all in a calendar and ideally adjust the weight/reps as I go along?

I had a pretty good experience with an app called “Push” (I was kind of in the beta – or was using an early release of it at least) until they did a big update release a couple of years ago. Things got a bit buggy for me and I realized I didn’t really need the app and cancelled my subscription but maybe they’ve ironed out the kinks by now. The app worked pretty well and did exactly what you are asking for: it progresses you slowly and adjusts your workouts for you and is fairly straightforward to use with a good built in “player” that walks you through the workouts with timed rest periods etc.
I’ve been testing out Hevy. You can integrate it with ChatGPT and get the AI to write the plan for you. Works quite well.
I use Calistree anf really like it. It’s mostly focused on calisthenics but there’s all the main weighted lifts and movements in there too. You can let it build you a routine based on your goals or you can create your own if you want. It automatically adjusts the reps as you progress and recommends new exercises to replace ones you’ve mastered. I first started using while cycle touring and didn’t have access to any equipment, and now I use it in the gym. The free version is completely usable and I’ve never felt the need to upgrade, but the option is there.
I am presently using MacroFactor Workouts. So far it is sticking with me.
Dialed Health is a good one and Derek Teel has been a guest on the podcast as well. It’s geared towards cyclists and you build a training plan based on your type of event like XC MTB or gravel. It comes with video clips for each movement.
I’ve used Volt for a number of years and been quite happy with it.
Thanks folks. Have tried Hevy and really like it. Have upgraded to the paid version. So far so good.
Volt athletics works well. It has a few program types to choose from. It adjusts based on your feedback. I use the General Program and it has a good mix of Upper/Legs and Core. It lets you resume workouts at a later date. I have it set for two days/week. I do the Upper/Core sets of a workout on non-interval days, then go back and do the Leg sets the next day after an interval workout.
