Goodness I hope they do a team time trial

For LBL, The 7 Eleven kit was fun. Bob Roll enjoyed it. The women’s racing was, again, more interesting than the men.

Soooo.. did Flo just die suddenly before the end of Romandie today or ?

Uf Remco went from super comeback to domestique work at Romandie… Hope he gets in proper form for the tour. We’re some interesting stages and nice to see Lenny Winn against UAE. But with todays TT almeida should winn GC by a mile and Vine also has a chance for second…

Caleb Ewan announces his immediate retirement.

2 wins this year, after a shift to Ineos from Jayco. He had a few small wins last year, but hasn’t been a World Tour threat for awhile.

So who do you all like for the Giro?

I agree with conclusions from the LRCP preview but they aren’t exactly shocking.

GC seems unlikely to be exciting, at least for a while. UAE and bora bringing such strong teams that even a raid stage seems like a stretch, but maybe carapaz in week 3 or Simon Yates earlieršŸ¤ž

So I’ll be hoping for pre-crash vuelta 2024 wva revival and a pederson points jersey

Wout to win the GC.

It’s race day! In the US, MAX is showing two feeds. The first includes the standard pre-race chat in the studio, on screen graphics, etc and then a single camera feed. The second feed is a multi-cam, with the same audio., but it looks like limited or no graphics.

Grand Prix du Morbihan Femme had a great finish! Pick it up at 3 K to go.

I was surprised to see Anna van der Breggen back in the saddle after being a DS for the last 2-3 years.

Stage 3 was the first appearance of Giro Dog.

Check out the GOAT

We discussed the mvdp roubaix ā€˜assault’ in another thread, but figured I’d mention the attempted incident yesterday in this thread

IMO trying to cross in front of riders to string a rope across the road is actually an incident worthy of much more serious charges

There’s premeditation there and legitimate jail time feels deserves. Haven’t had a chance to read up on the incident as I’m running a day behind on watching the race, but if it was what I think I saw - a spectator trying to string a pretty serious looking rope in front of the riders - that’s a major assault charge

Turning out to be an exciting Giro stage with the potential to really shake things up :collision:

I hate to see a crash or mechanical impact the race, particularly when the crash is a bit out of the rider’s control (crash yourself out and I’m less sympathetic) - but damn if that wasn’t a great stage to watch

Agreed. I hate to see riders lose time from crashes / mechanicals, but hopefully the lost time will force the GC riders to be more aggressive going forward. If so, the chaos from today’s stage will lead to a more interesting Giro.

Looks like he got bucked off the bike. Hard to tell from the video but looks like he had his dropper fully up, not giving himself much room to absorb the bump. I wonder if he just takes things too complacently - ā€œI’m such a great bike handler I can ride this nonchelantly and be totally fineā€.

Great race by Blevins.
