Preparation before fitting Tri bars

Hi everyone… just a quick one…
I have just bought some tri bars extensions for my canyon ultimate… the bar is and integrated h36 carbon canyon cockpit… has anyone got any advice or tips they can share to stop the extensions from scratching the bar when it is time to remove them… so people have suggested electrical tape… any other advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Hi
If you have any old inner tubes, you can cut them up and that works fine. Plus you will loose then so old inner keep it in the spares cabinet and hence plenty for cutting up. Also being rubber they will help with grip and any slippage

Thanks… get plenty of old inner tubes lying aro… will give that a go… cheers.

Depending on the specific tubes, you may find them too thick to apply a full wrap and still fit the bar clamps around. If you have super light or even latex tube material, it may work. Electrical tape is likely the best because it is thinner and offers adhesive to keep it from moving.
