So… completing the half distance build phase and have St. George 70.3 in a week, followed by the low volume full distance base training for AZ full distance in November, my A race. According to my calendar I should be doing the ramp test on Tuesday, 3 days after the 70.3. I’m 53 and will likely complete in around 6:30 or so… with around an 18 mph bike given the climbing. Current ftp 218. Past experience says it takes me a week or so of easy work to recover.
Should I go for the ramp test and see what happens, or push it back to later in the week with some easy recovery rides in between?
