Plan for Grinduros

My A-race for the first half of the year is going to be a Grinduro. It is 73 miles with 5400 feet of climbing. But the overall is determined based on your time over 4 stages that are between 5 and 15 minutes. So probably at most 40 minutes of actual racing. What plan would you pick? I had been following a plan for a gravel race mid-June, but the event switched more to a gravel fun fest, so going to change to this race in July.

Would a mountain bike plan make more sense? Need to have endurance but actual efforts are going to be short.

Gridnruo is definitely unique, and the stages that aren’t downhill definitely require some hard pedaling.

I’d say that XC Marathon could be a good fit for this course, as there is some sustained power needed. :sweat_smile:
