Within each Zone there are different Workout Profiles. See this screenshot:

These Workout Profiles more clearly define the type of work being done within that Zone. Taking VO2 Max, for example, in the case of Short Power Build we use a blend of On-Offs, Float Sets and a small portion of Traditional VO2 Max Workout Profiles. In the case of Sustained Power Build we use Sustained and Traditional VO2 Max Workout Profiles.

So even though two plans could technically target the same Zones, they may do so in very different ways and develop a very different result. This level of nuance is carried out through every energy system to fulfill the intentions of the plan and best prepare you for your goal event.
