Today I got a Yellow day after yesterday getting a red day. This was the guilty activity. A 3h30 all out race (sheduled has B race) on sunday:
Got this E-mail alert:
Went to the app and my todays workout is too hard (1h15 endurance 4.8 when my current endurance level is only 3.6) but got no adaptation suggestion to change it for something smoother as expected due to the Yellow light.
So I went to TrainNow and got a very easy ride… Too easy maybe…
Considering all the above and having a much easier endurance ride for tomorrow (only 30 minutes endurance 2.1) decided to swap todays workout for tomorrows workout instead using trainnow suggestion:
Lets see how this goes. But what is bugging me and makes me think and post this report is why adaptative training hasnt suggested an easier adaptation for today when the red/yellow/green ligh feature recommends a soft day and even TrainNow recognizes that need for a softer ride today?
AIUI yellow is endurance / rest and the scheduled workout (Collins) is an endurance ride, so no adaptation would be expected to be offered.
As you have demonstrated, it is easy enough to change any workout at any time if you don’t want to do the one on the plan.
Sure they are all endurance but if TrainNow detects I need a realy easy spin today why adaptative doesnt show the same type of option/suggestion?
Im good to spin for one hour but not on a 4.8 endurance level workout. My legs are realy trashed but after a rest day yesterday I dont want another rest day just a real easy spin.
At risk of repeating stuff that is already shown, “Yellow Day Detected - Avoid Intensity”
To have completed your recent training and race and “only” get a yellow day (rather than a red)(ETA I need to read more carefully, you did say you got a red day and then a yellow)
then maybe a 58 TSS endurance ride (that avoids intensity) is an appropriate one to recommend?
Of course, we don’t know how close to the yellow > red boundary you are and if, as you write, you want to do an easier ride, you have made that happen very easily.
Hey @SSaldanha
Let me look into this because you did receive an adaptation from a VO2 Max workout to an Endurance workout on your Yellow day, so that is good.
I’m just going to check if that level Endurance workout was intended here and get back to you!

Indeed you did and I missed it. Must read more carefully.
Caro has posted that the endurance ride was an adaptation from a scheduled VO2 ride. It will be interesting to hear more when she investigates a bit further.
I still think the 58TSS ride could be an OK recommendation for someone with your fitness and training history.
As we are our own coaches, with TR helping us, it is good that you were able to decide it was harder than you wanted to do and changed it out for an easier one.

A 75min 0.68 IF on a yellow day should be double. It’s pretty low intensity.
Skip the day then, even with fatigue in your legs, that kind of workout should not feel hard at all.
I had 3
last week. 2 days off scheduled and Sunday a .61 IF 60min ride. I did it watching PR and felt like nothing.

It went ok. Only the Higher intensity part of the workout going at 3wkg for 6 minutes felt a bit hard.
