Kickr Core 2 w/ Cog Cadence

I received my first trainer, Kickr Core 2, earlier this week as I’m just getting into training and technique in order to improve.

Last night I tried to familiarize myself with trainerroad by doing a quick workout (I believe it was Scotty) and I noticed that the cadence was pretty freakin high for me, 120-130, and I had difficulty keeping up with the target power. It felt like I was spinning out on a descent. I decided to do the ramp test this evening and I couldn’t keep up the target power again unless my cadence was between 120-130. I didn’t last very long haha. Is this the cadence I should be training at? Do I have a setting jacked up somewhere? Am I just a weakling?

Hey @whatwatts

Welcome to the forum!!

I only see a Ramp Test from yesterday, and by looking at the logs it appears that maybe you have both Bluetooth and ANT+ turned on. This can create connectivity issues and mess with your cadence.

On the Devices tab make sure you’re only turning on Bluetooth and ANT+ is off (grey). Here are instructions on how to connect devices: How to Pair Your Devices

And also troubleshooting steps for Bluetooth to keep in mind: Bluetooth Smart (4.0) Troubleshooting

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you. I’ve been doing workouts and haven’t noticed any issues so far except for rest periods when the power drops significantly. I imagine that’s just a part of using the trainer.
