Jespr cycle computer

A new one to me. Has anyone tried one already?

Like all of the challenger cycle computers, it sounds good.

I wonder how it will fare.

~$650USD and it doesn’t even come with a mount? :scream:

Other than being “different”, I see no compelling reason to choose a Jespr over any of the leading brands. I see no compelling differentiation in this offering.

I don’t see this ending well for them.

A few comments:

  1. It’s easy to say things, it’s harder to deliver.
  2. It’s micro-USB charging which makes me think the underlying hardware is a fairly old design.
  3. As seen with the COROS DURA, it’s hard to get a bike computer right.

Yeah, I have one. I’ll post next week on it.

I don’t really know what to say. It’s incredibly basic, with virtually no features of a mid-tier, let alone top-end bike computer.

Sure, it pairs to sensors, and you can follow a route. But so can most $200 bike computers these days.

I get the impression this had some good nuggets initially, but ultimately, with what appears to be an outsourced software development model, the people with the initial neat product ideas aren’t able to code themselves to quickly move the product forward. Thus, we end up with not much.
