I noticed a bunch of us have 🍰 next to our names today. Is it the 5 year anniversary of the first day of the forum? If so, happy anniversary! ---

It was actually on September 18th. > [@Welcome to the TrainerRoad Forum!](https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/welcome-to-the-trainerroad-forum/5/136): > > Minor bump just to recognize today (September 18, 2023) as the 5th birthday of the TrainerRoad forum. Small milestone to a place that has been a good place to spend time over these years. Thanks to @Nate_Pearson for making this all happen. +1 Today is specifically your “cake day”, the anniversary of when you joined. ---

Timing may have to do with when they officially opened it (Sep 18 per the Welcome topic) vs announced on the podcast maybe a bit later? Would maybe explain a large influx on a given day after the doors opened. ---

For another data point, the post in the old FB groups gave the announcement on September 26. ![20230927_082801](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/trainerroad/original/3X/d/c/dc7c2d5d6e6eaade3a362adb0db1e23bf647c99c.jpeg) ---

> [@Stevie\_Dee](#): > > I think TR was on FB before this forum came around. - Yup, that existed for quite a while prior to the forum (year or more IIRC?). - Nate correctly recognized the pitfalls within FB Groups and floated a trial balloon of creating and migrating to a forum. His poll in the FB group was rather negative about it at first (_I lobbied hard for a forum BC FB is a mess for stuff like this_), but thankfully Nate pushed forward with the idea despite some skepticism and we got this great place at the end. 😃 - That FB group still exists but TR seemingly dropped any real monitoring there since it is infested with spammers and BS posts. I finally left the group as a result, despite still having some people using it over the forum for some reason. ---
