Hyper-personalization - À la carte subs

Will TrainerRoad ever offer tiered memberships? I was having this thought last night and I’ve decided that AI is old news. What we need now is hyper-personalization. What I mean by that is, let us choose what we want. Not just TrainerRoad, but everything.

For example, I don’t use TR for plans anymore, but I love the calendar. So let me pick out the features I want and pay for only those. I want the calendar, AIFTP, and the ability to upload my own workout files and sync my calendar to Zwift. I don’t need or want Plan Builder, or Red Light/Green Light, or Train Now, or even the workout library.

Here’s my rationale. I would pay TR for their calendar, but there’s no way I’m paying for the full subscription. So they’re losing business because I’m now taking my money elsewhere. So they lose a customer and I have to find a different app or service that may not be exactly what I want.

What brought this on is how bad TrainingPeaks calendar is. Unless there’s an easier way I’m missing. I have my work schedule for the month and there are certain days I can’t train, and other days where I know all I can do is light riding (day after night shift). I wish I could create a drag and drop icon that says “No Training” or whatever and have it sitting in a menu, and I just drag and drop it on a calendar day. And I could create other drag and drop tiles for whatever. Race icon, vacation icons, sick icons. TrainerRoad sort of has this but not as simple as drag and drop as far as I know. But again, I’m not paying $20+ per month just for a calendar.

So is there a training platform that does what I want? And do you think TR will ever introduce tiered memberships?

I doubt they would do that as it’s a drastic change to their business model and you only want to use a few features that aren’t the core of the product.

I think intervals.icu would be up your alley

This isn’t something I’ve heard about us planning, but I’ll pass the idea along to the team!

Thanks for the feedback!
