I’m in a bit of an odd situation. I recently crashed my Tri bike and have decided not to replace it; I’m done with triathlon training now. However, the bike has a Dura-Ace 12-speed Di2 groupset on it.
I have two other bikes:
Giant Propel (Ultegra 12-speed Di2)
Giant Revolt (GRX 12-speed mechanical)
I’m considering a “groupset cascade”: moving the Dura-Ace to the Propel, shifting the Ultegra Di2 to the Revolt, and then buying a new gravel frame (like a Mason Bokeh) for the leftover mechanical GRX components.
My logic is that the Propel becomes the summer bike, the Revolt becomes the winter/commuter, and the Bokeh handles the gnarlier gravel/bikepacking—though I admit the Revolt is that bike!
I know I’ll need new shifters and a few small parts for the Dura-Ace road conversion, but I’m torn. Should I go through with the swap, or just sell the Dura-Ace TT groupset as is?
