Float sets relative perceived exertion?

Maybe a stupid question.

Have never done these before and doing them as part of SPBHV. I’m doing them and they feel more like threshold work than VO2max - HR is only above threshold for less than a minute total over 8 intervals.

Are these supposed to feel easier, or are they supposed to feel like normal VO2 work?

I am skeptical that I improved my VO2 PL by 4, a week after my last ramp test which went well, but I suppose that is possible.
