Feature request: respect plan time limits

I have a hard limit on my Friday workout of 45mins as set in my plan. I accept that I can physically do more but life says no. I’ve just spotted in my Google calendar I’m scheduled for a 1 hour session. I’ve now got to change it back (probably for multiple days) which will then redo predictive FTP (minor but I like the target).

I don’t want to lock the workout as I like adapting so I don’t think that would help.

As such I think it would be better if Plan Builder remained on the plan time but offers the extra credit workout you can swap to if you want.

My recent yellow days have done this by keeping a workout but offering easy ones if I want.

I think you can fix what you’re referencing by turning off Workout Extension in your account settings..

We’ll then let you know when longer workouts would be more productive, but won’t make that switch automatically..

Let me know if I’m on the right track here. :station:

That would be perfect but it’s already off? It’s also not present in the Windows app, I had to use the browser for than menu.

Below is my calendar that prompted me to ask (post v hard workout it’s dropped back to 45 min):

That’s strange..

If you see this again, could you reach out before changing anything so that we can take a look?

I didn’t change anything other than getting on struggle bus in this heat! But will definitely send a message if it happens again.

Thanks.

Ahh, so completing your workout yesterday it dropped back down to :45?

Completed it (just) just after 18:00 today.

Not sure when TR set it back to 45 but I checked the calendar between intervals to see what I was in for tomorrow. So I assume because I rated it as v hard today (and dropped it by 5%) it reassessed what I should do tomorrow.

Just to confirm, did you see that hour-long workout on your TR calendar, or did you only see it on your Google calendar?

Couldn’t say unfortunately, when I opened TR I went straight to the workout instead of the calendar.

Here’s an example @eddie - Friday is currently set to an hour but I’ll have to change it back at some point.

Big thanks!

Ahh, I see. I’ve got the needed info to document this, and I’ve just sent it to the team. :+1:

Hopefully, we can get a simple fix in place soon!

Bit of extra information, I was updating my weight today and went to the settings menu and the extension was on. I’d not changed it since we discussed last week.

That’s really strange. I looked at your account myself, twice actually, and saw that it was off.

I think we were doing some work to fix this issue, so I’ll reach out to see if any of that could have caused this..

Update:

It sounds like the fix for this issue actually did cause your switch to toggle back on.

It changed your switch to reflect what was happening on the back end. In your case, you were seeing behavior representative of Workout Extension being enabled, so your setting changed to reflect that.

If you turn it off now, it will stay off, and things will behave correctly.

Sorry for the confusion!

Sounds good. Thanks for checking.
