Eagle AXS on a Trek Checkpoint

I am looking to build the same setup as you and hope you can help guide me on this setup. So you have a XPLR crank/chainring and the RD-XX-SLE-B1 = Eagle RD? And therefore you have the T-Type flattop chain? So that is a different chain to the Road flattop that come with standard XPLR?

It depends on which generation Checkpoint you have. The Gen2 Checkpoint didn’t have a UDH, so you have to use the non-Transmission Eagle and the normal chain.

I have a new SL7 frame. I want(ed) to have a Red XPLR crank/chainring to Eagle 10/52 cassette. But I am not clear on whether I can do this with chain compatibility. I keep looking at the SRAM compatibility table and scratch my head as the XPLR is over there on the right hand side of the chart.

I’m pretty sure you can given that Lauf sells exactly the setup for the Siegla, but I have not verified this myself.

On my Lauf with the Transmission 12 speed rear derailleur and 10-52T Transmission cassette I use a SRAM XO Eagle Transmission chain. It works fine with the SRAM crank that came on my Lauf Ultimate build with 13sp XPLR group set.

If you are using a Red XPLR groupset, you will need to use the RED Chain or any 12-speed flattop road chain.

If you are using a Transmission groupset, you will need to use any Transmission T-type chain.

The X-SYNC Road Threaded Mount Chainrings are compatible with all Flatop road chains and all T-type Transmission chains.
