Great bikes and prices. Be sure to check shipping costs and potential import tariffs to the US
Yep, they ride the HI-Mod frames which are stiffer.
The Spec teams reportedly ride non-publicly available Tarmacs, that are custom bikes with more than twice the headtube stiffness. Things to think about when you think you’re riding what the pros ride.
Is that true though? I’m fairly certain UCI rules require that the frames used in races are publicly available. It sounds doubtful to me that Specialized teams would be knowingly in breach of that rule given the implication that breach could see them dq’d from all the races they’ve ridden on the ‘modified’ frames.
It’s been mentioned in several podcasts from people in the industry. Apparently you can only tell if it’s disassembled and look down the headtube. The same mold is used as the production bike, but with a different carbon layup schedule.
Not sure the UCI cares as long as the same molds are used? S-WORKS bikes technically aren’t even homologated.
Interesting - so UCI is only approving the frame shape?
They also require a min weight.
Good stuff on select bibs/jerseys. Plenty of sizes available too.
Some mid range BMC builds for a good price: Discount Bikes Redmond WA | Sale on BMC, Pinarello & Cervélo – Element Cycles — Elementcycles
I’m on the hunt for a discount on 30 or 32mm gp5000 str.
This deal was also posted on other sites, so not sure of what’s left, but note that the alpine and gravel bib shorts are Cuore ones. It’s not clear on the site that they are, but my ones arrived today and are Cuore. I also got the mtb shorts (i.e. that you wear over bibs), and they’re also Cuore.
So Cuore bib shorts for around $30-35 on sale down from $150. Beats aliexpress/amazon/blackbibs etc shorts in my opinion.
Edit - This is in reply to the post linking to Giant’s sale on clothing.
Agreed. I did a couple rides on the bibs this weekend and they’re excellent, even placed a 2nd order…now I have plenty to never have to re-use the same pair without washing ever again.
The really cheap prices on the Giant bib shorts are only for XS, L, XL sizes but not S nor M, unfortunately.
I thought they might have sold out of the others. When the deal was posted, they had all sizes. I got M and L, although now thinking I should have got L and XL.
Giant really didn’t do a good job of detailing how good the bibs were.
Sizing chart links on the bottom of this page (red buttons) https://us.cuore.ch/pages/fit-guide
That aligns with the one on Giant’s site. I should be able to fit medium or large. The mtb shorts in large (casual type shorts) in Large are good, but the bibs feel a little short in the straps for me. I did read of a couple of people around 6’2 or 6’3 who found the XL bib straps short too.
But quality is amazing, I don’t think you can find anything under $100 that compares to Cuore for $35 on sale.
Ordered some XL tonight, but they might be too big.
OrNot at %25 off site wide for the next 48 hours.
Shokz have blackfriday deal starting on Nov 20th. I’ve used them for running, and really liked how you could still hear your surroundings. I assume they’d be equally as useful on the bike or trainer.
When I see stuff like this, I know there is an underlying problem with the business.
But I do love mine.
