Cycling Recovery Time Compared to Other Aerobic Sports

How does recovery times on the bike compare to say running and swimming?

Distance running obviously has high impact & most mileage is aerobic. Swimming has minimal and they can do hard workouts a lot more frequently.

With all the talk of polarized workouts, recovery and how often you should do interval sessions… it got me thinking. Where does the bike fit on that spectrum? Obviously chunky downhill on the MTB is different than the bike path but due to the lower impact can you hit the intensity more often?
