Is anybody following the CX training plan? Can you tell me how it’s going or went for you.
First season using TR, I’m on specialty phase now with my A race next week and so far, I don’t think this is it.
I had no problem with Base and Build but Specialty with three and a half months of just Anaerobic and Vo2 workouts , I know I’m losing out on the sustain power.
I’m starting to wonder if it would be better to replace one of the Vo2 workouts with Sweetspot.
I also find that the system doesn’t recognize races, and example I’ve had a Anaerobic workout on Tuesday, trigger a yellow day for Wednesday same day as a training race, then Thursday no yellow or red day and Vo2 workout scheduled. Me like a drone did the workout but it was harder than it should’ve been and after the workout just felt like I over reached.
I also got the AI so confused that it wanted to drop my FTP. I did a 20 minute FTP test to give the AI data because I knew it was wrong. During that time I had not been missing any workouts and had to hold back on my zone 2 rides.
We all know how the AI only gives you and FTP increases of a watt or two per month so when it wants to drop you by 10 watts in one go when you been putting in the work, thats a big deal.
I don’t know. Been on the plan since March, if I had to guess maybe 87-90% workout completion rate and so far getting my butt kicked in these CX races.
Getting 41 out of 51 and lapped in a race makes me think that I could have been watching TV instead of doing a hard ass Anaerobic workout,
I hate those things.
