A lot of green time and still some recovery. Great work!
How do your on/off times look like?

Thanks. No off time really, I just rode as much as I could recover from (and sometimes a tick more).
Now trying to maintain it while building up my HI.
I’m in my offseason downward trend and it’s really going to drop the next couple weeks with a non-cycling vacation coming up. Peaked in the `130’s prior to both Unbound and Leadville with race-day CTLs ~110. Under 100 now and falling quick. I’ve got a couple fun events on the calendar for Oct/Nov, but don’t expect I’ll see 100+ again until 2025.
But who is doing this to people?!
It ain’t getting any better….
Not mention above has been a sciatica issue…was just a annoying niggle for about 6 weeks, but really flared up post-kidney stone (and the CT scan form that revealed degenerative disc issues at L5 / S1 ). Following my kidney stone procedure, I rode twice and it was painful to ride…made an appt with a spine doc, started PT and then went to China for 4 days.
All of which is to say my CTL has plummeted from ~100 at the beginning of August to 47 today.
Got out on the bike today and felt better than I expected, so time to start slowly building back up.
Been there and worse, like down to 25 or so. Look at the bright side, few moths can bring you back. And for a while you have lot of extra time to spend on other things, as you start out with relatively low volume.
Total bummer. Glad you felt better than expected though.
It’s been a helluva month…first time I think I have ever really felt my age.
I’m so jealous. Wish I had that kind of time.
Look at that consistency!
This is such a great post. Very wise advice. Thank you.
My goal is 0 Ctl right now
How are you guys stacking load?
3 progressive weeks + 1 rest week? Or only 2:1?
What’s the weekly ramp rate?
What’s the relative load of the rest week?
I go for 3:1 and rest ratio of around 0.6
Built up to 98 before my A event… which pushed me to 102 but recovering now. Would have been nice to build up a bit more, but I had rest week / vacation / taper that led to a plateau. Still, highest I’ve ever been and that CTL really makes a difference in longer events. Ski season approaches so a big decline on the way, but hoping to hit new highs next season.
