I did Holt Hill +2 this morning as an outside ride.
The instructions for the outside ride are wrong it states.
Main Set:
16 minutes at 244, followed by 3 mintues rest.
17 minutes at 274, followed by 3 mintues rest.
16 minutes at 274, followed by 3 mintues rest.
23 minutes at 259.
When it should be
Main Set:
16 minutes at 244, followed by 3 mintues rest.
17 minutes at 274, followed by 3 mintues rest.
16 minutes at 244, followed by 3 mintues rest.(fixed)
23 minutes at 259.
It is also labeled sweet spot yet the indoor ride states.
Holt Hill +2 totals over 80 minutes of Tempo intervals spent between 80-90% FTP with intermittent, 3-minute recoveries at 55% FTP.
All the other versions of Holt Hill are tempo and this one is sweet spot. I noticed it with a few others.
I understand they have thousands of workouts to get right. And the instructions can be forgiven because the actual workout matched inside or outside.
I’m just curious if this is really a sweet spot workout instead of a tempo workout?
There are plenty of minor errors in workout descriptions. It was likely correct at one point but the workout was tweaked and for some reason the description wasn’t. It’s no big deal and I wouldn’t worry about it.
Sweet Spot (SS) are those workouts that contain intervals at 88-94% of your Functional Threshold Power (FTP). However, TR may call them sweet spot even though it’s slightly below 88%, particularly if the workout PL is low. It’s basically a primer workout to get you ready for more SS in a plan. Also, if the intervals are varied, some below 88% and some at/above.
I wouldn’t get too caught up in the workout category name or description, it doesn’t matter at all. The AI algorithm is simply giving you an appropriate workout based on your PL and where you are at in your plan.
