Canyon just came out with the new Endurace. It is basically the Aeroad with claimed clearance for 35mm tires, but people are saying that is conservative. Also more relaxed geo, but not by much. Seems to be everything the Nero Show boys were asking for. What is the thoughts of the group?
I find it interesting. But as a younger man who puts tape over the peddle hole in his cranks to save however many watts that dose, its probably not for me.
Good luck. Only the top model (Durance) is for sale, and it says sold out. Should have been up 4 hours ago, refreshing the page if you want one, I guess. Crazy how fast a 10k bike just flies off the shelf these days, and I am not even usually someone who complains about bike price.
The geometry is definitely improved, but wasn’t the previous Endurace’s tire clearance 35mm as well?
That makes me think that whatever fits in that bike will fit here..
Also, I’m certainly not prepared to pull the trigger on a CFR model, but I’ll be curious to see what the lower-tier ones list for. I’m with @KonaSS – I think Ultegra Di2 is usually the sweet spot.
If you go one size down from Aeroad to Endurance. The Endurance has the same reach but has 3 mm higher stack. However you can get it specked with the new Race bar that the pros have been using and that bar will lower your effective stack by 20 mm (and increase effective reach by 10 mm).
If this is really going to make the Nero Show boys happy, it better come with Galfer Rotors, titanium bolts, and some “special sauce for the boys”!
Yes. Must have the right paws. Can not have an hour power below 350 because otherwise your bike’s a dog, no matter how fast it is. Under 7.2kg. But it must have 1450g wheels. Can’t be tooo nice now, can it?
They need to build up what they think is there “fast bike” but I gusse that is just there S5 lol.
I personally think they killed it with this bike. It’s like 2W slower than the Aeroad (which means faster than most race bike including the Tarmac SL8) and maybe 100g heavier. But will run 38mm tires. And has UDH. This is an awesome do it all race bike. Huge tires for almost every ride but you can run smaller for races. Can run both of the Canyon cockpits. Same race geo as the Aeroad (but can go 5mm higher stack). Comfort or full carbon seatpost. Ticks pretty much every box. I don’t see much of a reason to choose the Aeroad over this.
