So, this may be pushing the edge of what’s acceptable for the forum, but there are a lot of racers here that may be interested (and aren’t on FB). If it’s not acceptable, please let me know and I’ll delete it.
The Mt Hamilton Classic Road Race is one of the true CLASSIC road races in NorCal, and maybe even in all of the US. It’s one of the oldest–this year we are celebrating the 60th anniversary! The San Jose Bicycle Club (itself a NorCal classic club, celebrating our 80th anniversary this year) organizes the event, and local bike shop Mike’s Bikes is sponsoring the race this year! I am cordially inviting everyone to come race the Mike’s Bikes 60th Anniversary Mt. Hamilton Classic Road Race this Memorial Day weekend! It will be on Sunday, 26 May, 2019.
If you want to learn more about the race and history, check out this awesome video:
If you don’t want to ride all 60+ miles from San Jose to Livermore, you can do the Race to the Observatory, which will bring you to the top of Mt Hamilton. We’re having public fields for road bikes as well as MTB, single speed (two brakes required), or bring a friend and ride a tandem!
Prereg is open here:
We are offering a spectacular commemorative jersey, available for anyone to purchase:
We are also going to have winner’s jerseys for the top finishers for the fields that go to Livermore (see below for a sneak peek), thanks to Jakroo Custom Apparel!
It will be a fantastic event.
