Not a good first user experience.
Yep, the AI loves sweetspot at 94% for sure. That was certainly my experience.
She is trying to sabotage it. They offer the customer service call which would have answered all of her questions.
Yeah heard on the match box they are comparing an online coaching platform, TR, to 1 on 1 coaching with Ignition.
I can see how this is going to go
If you incorporate a modicum of your own judgement into TrainerRoad, instead of trying to be as obtuse as possible for clicks, the program works really well. The fact that she named her training program after her YouTube channel shows how seriously she took this, and her real goal.
One thing they mentioned that I think would be an incredible addition for new users, is an AI chat bot. A virtual assistant.
Haven’t watched it but guessing from the title they are trying to get clicks after seeing the DJ “burnout” video. ![]()
Got around to watching it, kind of funny with them “roasting” the schedule and then after one week being like man this is tough. “Where is my chill zone 2?”
Props to the TR AI. It gave her a Sweet Spot 7.9 as her first workout and she got though it. ![]()
It baffles me that TR still recommends 3 interval days a week. The default should be 2 and not called “Masters”. That label definitely makes look bad/easy.
My thought watching was that TR could emphasise more WHY it’s making the decisions it does.
No conflict of interest at all ![]()
Crappy video. As mentioned above, support is there to help get started.
So Dylan calls out TR years ago, maybe justified. Now this video, with Two of DJ coaches doing the same thing… (caitlin has yet to be on, so I can let her slide for the moment, but Trey is certainly a willing participant).
how about you just do a good job at coaching and people will choose you to be their coach rather than try to make other companies look bad? Influencers are influencers , dont support them.
Wow, so Trey starts working for Ignition and then they do a video comparing TR to Ignition? This will be as useful as a Maxxis sponsored athlete telling you about tires.
lol at fascat coaching giving themselves a plug in the comments
I think a personal coach will get me more dialed in than TrainerRoad. But, and I know everyone has their own priorities, I personally would rather have an extra $2400 in my pocket each year than a slighter higher ftp.
The blatant ads for Ignition coaching completely undermines anything else they say. The whole video should just be marked sponsored content.
Cringy video, clearly they had their own agenda. Tbh i think alot of people dont understand how little z2 does for you if you are not pushing volume. That intensity was exactly what she needed to improve.
I didn’t watch, but everything they do is highly biased toward products they sell. With the tie to Ignition, of course they are going to be biased towards that approach. That’s not a knock on them, they certainly don’t hide the fact that they are constantly plugging the stuff they are testing/reviewing. Their videos are 95% sales and marketing of their products with a little entertainment mixed in. I don’t mind that approach as long as they aren’t being deceptive about it (like a lot of the traditional cycling media). They recently did a a review of several gravel bikes that they sell, talking about how Allied, Argon, etc. are leading the way with clearance for MTB-sized tires. In the video comments, people brought up Lauf and they responded with “never heard of it”. Obviously a totally tongue in cheek response, at least they own the fact that their videos are all about selling their stuff.
I mean it’s obvious biased but not without some good points.
Having over training warnings when you add a bit of endurance to the plan is probably overly pessimistic. And like what is the point of a 45m endurance ride?
Defaulting to 3 hard rides a week is probably too much for anyone not on super low volume.
It would be nice to have ftp detection automatically run and suggest an appropriate level when one uploads their training data. It didn’t seem to do so here and like they said a user could enter any ftp and not be forced to have an appropriate one.
On brand for Bicycle Station.
