Best training additions to do along with SSB LV plan

Hi All, 42M here completely new to cycling at my SSB part 2 LV , week 2, joined TR for 2 months.

Doing my SSB LV on Mon//Tue/Sat with an additional outdoor raise on Thursday varies from 2-4 hours usually on hills with 500-800 m ascending.

From this week, I feel I might have more energy to go with the current schedule, and plan to do light gym sessions on Tue/Thur/Sat for 45 min.

However, I am not sure if this would be good idea of these additional gym time comparing to have an additional hour of endurance ride on these 3 days.

By the way, I have 1 year Gym experience, prior to cycling , however, I drop it when I start SSB part 1 LV.

Wondering which will make best use of my time, especially after I read strength training blog and listen to podcast, it seems my current strength already enough as a beginner in cycling.

Rather than 3 light gym days Iā€™d probably do 2 and a Z2 ride on the other day.

Start light in the gym, then add more weight as the season progresses.
