No creaks or anything out of my 22,000 mile BB90, my experience leads me to believe these problems are largely exaggerated much like cracked Ultegra cranks. I’m changing mine soon because it just seems wrong not to haha.
Those refer to press fit cups, maybe I misunderstood your comment. But even Shimano thread in BBs that most people consider reliable use a plastic adapter to the crankset spindle. I don’t think its really and issue and allows for slight takeup in play from tolerance differences combined with loctite.
I’m also running 4x different ultegra 6800 and r7000 cranksets of various age and water exposure without an issue yet, knock on wood.
