Anyone ever get nostalgic about those old sweet spot base workouts?

Looking back at them, I just remember grinding through SSB1, SSB2 and Build and using these memorable workouts over and over to gauge how that trip around the base/build block was going. Looking back at my comments, sometimes I crushed them, sometimes I got crushed. That spencer, lamarck, leconte week was always a benchmark for me. And then Mary Austin a few weeks later. I love what trainerroad has done since then, but sometimes I think those were the good ole days of blindly cooking yourself in base. And then the ramp test. good times. lol.

I know what you mean - there’s a few power PRs I’ve not surpassed in the past couple of years, and when I look back they’re always Lamarck, Leconte or Mary Austin (or the odd 8 minute FTP test from the pre-ramp days!) Good times, or maybe it’s Stockholm syndrome…..

I actually quit TR once after a Mary Austin fail :joy:

I came crawling back though - now she’s a badge of honor.

But now we have the tools to understand….. 50/50 chance of getting through to the end sounds about right
