Anyone else got a bogey workout?

I’ve tried Lismore twice… (It appeared in my plan 2 weeks ago. Because I failed it I swapped it in today, replacing a similar workout. Failed again.)

I just CANNOT do the over unders… I barely make it through the first bunch, then have to give up in the second. I don’t know why this is… All other workouts I’m given are fine.

It’s probably because of all the workout types, the kind of o/u that TR usually gives (95%/105%) are the single best way to expose whether your AIFTP is set a few watts higher than where your actual threshold is.

For that very reason I switched them out for steady intervals for a couple of blocks.

These were a nemesis workout. After rating Woodworth (95/105% OU) a very hard - TR dialled me back and built it back up. My progressions were;

The final one, Blackcap -1 (95/110% OU) was a Hard rating. Perhaps consider similar?

I’d just had a 10w bump in FTP… And it’s been about 27c in my garage… Not a great combo for doing these workouts.

What a good thread.

Anything in this Vo2 Attack family, I’ve only pass Ern with a Very Hard rating and failed everything else.

Also the Priest and Owl, together it sound like some type of pub.

When these comes up on the calendar my heart drops.

I have past them both with a Very Hard rating but it took a lot of focus and both workouts left my legs sore the next day.

The burn after the hard start :tired_face:

Seems like this is probably the issue. :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Jumping to a hard workout that you failed once after an FTP increase is probably a recipe for failure. Add in the hot garage, and I think that’s the nail in the coffin. :coffin:

Just to confirm both my fails were after the FTP jump (that may be what you meant), but I didn’t want you to think I failed once, had an FTP bump, then failed again. Now THAT would be lunacy :rofl:
