Achieved PL Ranked Above Workout Level

This might be a really simple one, but I’ve not seen it explained, so humour me

Did Bluebell +1 (VO2 Max 4.6) tonight, went fine, completed as designed. But now I noticed that it’s recorded my VO2 Max PL as 4.7, rather than the workout level of 4.6.

I know that PLs aren’t the be-all and end-all of the model now, but being a numbers/analysis sort of guy, I just wondered what that meant? I didn’t nudge up the workout difficulty, I just did it to plan, so I’m curious what data point it looked at and went “you did extra well” on the basis of. I understand (as a concept) how you’d get a lower PL (pauses, lowered difficulty etc), but overperforming without adjusting difficulty up has me scratching my head

Any info greatly appreciated

I can’t see the workout file, but I’ve had this a number of times when doing the workouts in ERG mode. I’m guessing it’s the lag time on the trainer adjusting the resistance. Probably cranks the resistance up a little faster than it reduces the resistance so you end up doing the intervals a bit longer than expected.

That would make sense, though I’m surprised it’s that sensitive still. Had some instances in beta where I’d be dinged down by a point or two because of ERG variability, but it seemed to have been fixed (it hasn’t recurred), and I’d never had it work out scoring me better before.

Not that it really matter though, just curious and appreciate understanding the why
