2020 Giro d'Italia Discussion

 This is brilliant.

I originally saw this jersey and hated it. I was like what the heck is going on here?! Then I looked again. And again. And I finally have to the conclusion that I actually like it! It has grown on me. There is a lot going on and it is full on, but hey, you’re definitely going to stand out on the road that’s for sure!

the official website Official TV | Giro d'Italia 2023 says its true and hoping the guide is out-of-date because I don’t see any other stages next week…

Today’s TT course seems great! Have everyone crash on the first day of a 3 week race.

Mad, looks like they’ve levelled up with added oil, manhole covers and general shite. Some scathing comments from riders there

Great ride by Thomas…he was blown in the last 100m. He’ll take a decent chunk of time out of Yates today. Yates will struggle in these gusty conditions.

Yeah that didn’t look great. Goes to show just how quickly things can go wrong when your weight is only slightly off balance on the base bar. Feeds into what Campanaerts was saying about the poor road conditions on the flat being quite dangerous due to all the bumps.

Just saw it. Apparently the roads are shocking. Hope he’s okay.

Ganna pushing a 60-11 today :muscle::fearful:
Looks like he hasn’t quite got the record TT average speed - but the Maglia Rosa today won’t be a bad consolation prize.

Absolutely love the Giro: la piu bella delle gare. I think G has a really good chance but Yates will be a demon in the mountains. I struggle to see lo squalo having the form over the 3 weeks but then again he may ride into form - that is pretty normal for these guys I guess.

I’ll be at le tappe 15 and 16 with my wife. The course to piancavallo looks… easy! Not. The final climb is not too hard (did it last year) but is just really constant.

So much for the idea that Kruijswijk would challenge for the maglia Rosa…

Missed the Lopez crash, but an ambulance just pulled up…not good.

The replay looked horrific - it was as if someone just yanked his front wheel away sideways.

Yikes…

Lots of riders ripping the organizers about the stage design and conditions. Sounds like is is well deserved.

Nibali with a lot of work to do in the mountains…,89” down on Thomas.

Sad for Lopez but he was tired and racing for a team that won’t pay him what he wants next year. Hope he is ok, but his main priority for 2020 should be finding a new team. Wonder what happened with AGr2 talks. H

Anyone know how I can watch in the US? For TdF, the NBC 20 minute recaps were perfect for me. Does Flobikes do something like that?

Flobikes or Fubo are the two I’m aware of carrying it in the US

FLO, as of right now, only has a full replay of stage 1 up. I think they have done recap versions, or at least like the last 20k of the stage in the past, but I’m not 100%.

I agree. He has some work ahead of him. Thomas and Yates will mark him solidly in the mountains too. I don’t see him being able to get away.

Thomas looked strong. I hope it’s a good battle between him and Yates throughout the whole race.

Lopez crashed hard. I hope he is OK. I really like him as a rider and enjoy watching him race.
