That means we don\u2019t have a way to import your historical data if it\u2019s only on Garmin Connect and not Strava.<\/p>\n<h3>Manual Files<\/h3>\n<p>Some of you might have stored .FIT or .TCX files on your computer. This view shows you where your strength and weaknesses are.<\/p>\n<p>My graph shows an &#8220;up and down&#8221; consistency model which is my biggest problem (and I suspect a lot of people reading this). Maintaining a high Training Stress goal like this is easy to do by following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/cycling\/plans?utm_source=TrainerRoad%20Blog&amp;utm_medium=Blog%20Post%2FPerformance%20Analytics%20Announcement&amp;utm_campaign=TrainerRoad%20Blog%20Content&amp;utm_content=mid-volume%20TrainerRoad%20plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mid-volume TrainerRoad plan<\/a> (and it will also make sure that I peak for my A Race).<\/p>\n<p>I plan on keeping my six-week average Training Stress this high until after the Leadville 100 (August) which is my second A race of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The Training Stress Chart keeps me honest against my goal. It also lets me combine inside and outside rides in a single graph to better track my Training Stress.<\/p>\n<h3>Historical FTP and Training Stress<\/h3>\n<p>Some of you might not have four years of TrainerRoad data. Fear not! We&#8217;ve got two options for you:<\/p>\n<p>1) We&#8217;ve automatically put in FTPs based on your peak power outputs in the ride files we analyzed. If you&#8217;re happy with your FTP history, you don&#8217;t have to do anything.<\/p>\n<p>2) You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/profile\/edit\/power-weight-history?utm_source=TrainerRoad%20Blog&amp;utm_medium=Blog%20Post%2FPerformance%20Analytics%20Announcement&amp;utm_campaign=TrainerRoad%20Blog%20Content&amp;utm_content=manually%20edit%20your%20FTP%20history.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">manually edit your FTP history<\/a>. When you save your new FTP, we&#8217;ll kick off a job to reprocess your Training Stress for each outside ride.<\/p>\n<h3>Training Stress Chart Drill-In<\/h3>\n<p>The bottom Training Stress table makes it easy to see how you earned your Training Stress for that week. Rides performed outside of TrainerRoad are marked with a green dot, and you can click on a week to view the actual rides.<\/p>\n<p>Do you end up taking a week off after you do six days in a row? Maybe you should consider taking a planned rest day after every third workout to become more consistent.<\/p>\n<p>Do Tuesdays always seem to get skipped? Schedule your easier, less important workouts there or have them be complete rest.<\/p>\n<p>When you had your best training sets, what did your daily breakdown look like? It doesn&#8217;t matter who showed up to the race, if it was super windy or if my technical skills were off that day. I can still get a personal &#8220;win&#8221; by laying down the power.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is that current Personal Record charts were broken in my opinion. They always grouped things into years or the last 6-weeks; these were hardly meaningful in my training.<\/p>\n<h2>Introducing TrainerRoad Seasons and SeasonMatch<\/h2>\n<p>Fitness is cyclical, meaning you&#8217;re usually (if training correctly) stronger at the end of the season compared to the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s often a period of rest after a season where a slight decrease in fitness happens; then you start with a higher fitness point compared to last season.<\/p>\n<p>There was no way to easily compare fitness at different points in a season until today.<\/p>\n<h2>TrainerRoad Personal Record Chart<\/h2>\n<p>We re-imaged what a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/career-personal-records?utm_source=TrainerRoad%20Blog&amp;utm_medium=Blog%20Post%2FPerformance%20Analytics%20Announcement&amp;utm_campaign=TrainerRoad%20Blog%20Content&amp;utm_content=Personal%20Record%20chart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Personal Record chart<\/a> should be.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing we thought of is that we wanted to compare one season to another. These often didn&#8217;t line up precisely with years and often overlapped each other. This reflects my training as I decided to skip my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/cycling\/plans\/category\/49-off-road?utm_source=TrainerRoad%20Blog&amp;utm_medium=Blog%20Post%2FPerformance%20Analytics%20Announcement&amp;utm_campaign=TrainerRoad%20Blog%20Content&amp;utm_content=Specialty%20Phase%20Cyclocross%20Plan#cyclocross\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Speciality Phase Cyclocross Plan<\/a> and start over with base to work towards next season. While looking at this chart, I wonder if that was the right choice.<\/p>\n<h3>Total vs. Sprint vs. Endurance<\/h3>\n<p>One problem with existing personal record charts is that they show a very large scale on the y-axis. You can compare a Spring MTB season with a Fall &#8216;Cross season.<\/p>\n<h3>Earning Personal Records per Season<\/h3>\n<p>Getting PR feedback is really motivating. Every time I produce more power I get a little win that I can take back and know that my training is working.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re now calculating PRs per Season. That means that if your ride produced the most power at 5 minutes for an active season you&#8217;re in you&#8217;ll get a new PR! You can quickly see your important stats (power, weight, power-to-weight).<\/p>\n<p>Your last ride is always front and center along with any power PRs you earned. This makes it really easy drill into the last ride you did.<\/p>\n<p>The upgraded Training Stress Chart is also present on this page. We&#8217;ve tested this feature with numerous riders at different fitness levels and we&#8217;ve found the numbers to line up pretty well.<\/p>\n<p>We think it&#8217;s close enough to shape your Training Stress Chart and know if you&#8217;re on track to hit your personal goals.<\/p>\n<h2>How much is this going to cost?<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always said that TrainerRoad is the best value for money you can spend in cycling. There&#8217;s a 3-dot menu at the top of the ride page that lets you set the FTP for that specific ride.<\/p>\n<h3>Do you guys plan to do a PMC?<\/h3>\n<p>Not in the form you&#8217;re probably thinking of. We&#8217;ve got our own thoughts on the topic, and they are on the roadmap to implement.<\/p>\n<h3>Does the Training Stress Chart replace a calendar?<\/h3>\n<p>Nope!
